yummy!

I pride myself on being adventurous, but let me be the first to admit I'm a wuss when it comes to trying new foods. I came across this video of South Koreans enjoying a delicacy, octopus. *LIVE* I'm not sure I can stomach (ha-ha, pun intended) seeing my food walk off my dinner plate. I know eating live octopus doesn't even start to compare to other delightful delectables people consume, but still, trying to chow down an octopus while it's tentacles are clamoring away in your throat (possibly leading to death) belongs in its own category.

Le-go my Legos!

Happy (belated) 50th birthday, Lego!! I remember playing with these as a kid (in fact, it's the only toy I remember bringing to the U.S. from Sweden). Back then Legos included very basic shapes and you had to use your imagination to create wondrous masterpieces only to tear it down because you needed its pieces for a new work of art. Now they have all kinds of shapes, machinery, and villains.

Here's a funny Lego clip.

Love cannons

Love Cannons. Think your gun is big enough to fill one of these?

Personally, I need one of these.

And remember, "Stay real! We are all brack people." Scroll through the other images. I love all things Japanese!

Speaking of "brack", check out this video of Mitt Romney attempting to mingle with African-American families at a MLK Jr. parade in Florida. Forget the dogs, who let him out?? And the "bling bling" comment? Really?!?

[I was going to write a blog entry about the US presidential race, but realized that that was going to turn into a 5 page discussion - too serious for this blog. But please, I invite you to invite me for a discussion on the political races over a pear cider or two.]

what to do with a hot frying pan?

This video made possible by our friends at DuPont. Where would we be without Teflon(R)?

(Really, I do have better things to do with my time... I'm just procrastinating)

in need of some cuteness?

Does the gray winter weather have you down? Do you have SAD? If so, I have a solution! Just follow these simple steps and soon you will be walking around with a smile on your face.

1. Maximize your browser window.
2. Click on this link.
3. Smile!

If this didn't work, you are beyond hope. Just kidding.

Watching this is like watching my fish swim around in their tank! If you are fortunate/unfortunate enough to have two computer monitors, load the link up on one screen while working off the other screen. You may even freak gullible coworkers by telling them you trapped a dog in your monitor! (and more points to you if you can pull this off with a flat monitor!)

(thanks for the link jtb)

*UPDATE*

The original link doesn't work anymore, but click here for a similar version of the original link (a kitten instead of a puppy). (thanks for the link DE)
